Help raise money for Ridgeway PAC by buying gift cards for everyday purchases or holiday gifts from some of Canada’s largest retailers. We offer these gift cards to you at face-value, and for each gift card bought Ridgeway PAC earns rebates ranging from 2% – 10% of the purchase price of the cards. For more information click here, or view the [revised] Parent Order Form and List of Retailers. We also hope that you will approach your employer with this fundraiser using our Letter to Employers (or consider buying gift cards from Ridgeway PAC for your business’s employee recognition program, customer thank you(s), or in-lieu of a Holiday Gala).

At our last PAC meeting we heard from guest speaker Carol Sartor of HASTe BC, regarding school travel planning. Carol asked for a number of interested parent volunteers to assist in creating a survey, participate in a walk-about of the neighbourhood and brainstorming on walk to school programs/incentives etc.
Our first meeting has been scheduled for THIS Thursday, February 25 at 1pm at Ridgeway.
Ideally we will have some representation from all directions surrounding the school, and also a good variety of drivers, walkers, bikers, etc…
A time commitment of 1-1.5 hours per meeting will be required, all meetings will take place during school hours.
If you are interested in participating, please confirm your attendance via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
HASTe BC has been retained by the City of North Vancouver to work with specific schools (including ours) on travel planning, i.e.; how students get to and from school. The work will include an assessment of barriers (e.g.; lack of sidewalks, lack of bike racks, traffic congestion or hazards, or other barriers); input from a parent committee; and improvements which will include a Best Routes Map, and which could also include changes to traffic planning (e.g.; sidewalks, traffic calming, etc…), facilitation (e.g.; signage, bylaw enforcement, etc…), and modifications to address other specific barriers or issues.
Darn! Forgot about Gym Sense in the last update.
Supported by PAC funds, Gym Sense will be bringing their fun program to all Ridgeway classes from February 10 to March 6.

Reminder that this Wednesday December 17 is the final day to sign up for Fun Lunches for the January – March term. Please note that all orders for the January – March term must be placed and paid for by Wednesday December 17, and that once placed, all orders are final. We will be unable to accept any late orders for this upcoming term. Click here for more info and details on how to order.
Reminder that tonight is the Ridgeway PAC Winter Social. It will be a fun, casual opportunity to meet other Ridgeway parents, your PAC executive, and also some Ridgeway staff. Starting at 7:00 p.m., at Christine Grundy’s home – 424 WEST 15th Street, North Van. Pot-luck style, if you wish to bring an appetizer or dessert!
Happy Winter Break!
The update sent last night contained an error: Poinsettia pick-up is TODAY, December 1. Not December 8 as previously sent!
Today a lovely pink notice went home in most students’ backpacks, probably arriving home wet and crumpled from being next to the socks worn for the very rainy Terry Fox Run… But the pink notice announced the start of our new online Fun Lunch ordering system – MunchaLunch. Crowds of people came to our new PAC site to register for Fun Lunches! And… The link didn’t work.
Apologies for that. If it’s not already obvious that this site is a first try by a few volunteers, no doubt it will become so soon! (If you are a web expert and parent of a Ridgeway student, this is your cue to get in touch.) In the meantime, please bear with us. The MunchaLunch logo on this site will now get you to the right place, albeit with an extra click through the Ridgeway school site. We are working to get the direct link sorted out as quickly as possible.
We are also aware of some issues within the MunchaLunch site itself, and are working with Munch to get everything running smoothly ASAP, most likely by early next week (approx. Sept. 30). The issues are mainly with combo lunch orders, and as a result you may not currently be able to complete your order on the MunchaLunch site.
For more details on PAC Fun Lunch without leaving this site, click on ‘Fun Lunches’ at the top of this page. Or, if you would like to register and familiarize yourself with the MunchaLunch system, click the Munch logo on the right.
Join us on “Slice Night” to visit the school and your child(ren)’s classrooms, followed by a free light supper of pizza, drink, and chips with other Ridgeway families, staff, and teachers.
All classrooms will be open for visiting and viewing, and many teachers will be available to chat informally with parents.
PAC representatives will also be on hand to answer any questions about the PAC (and serve pizza!).
Classroom visits and social pizza supper
