Spring Fair Class Baskets Due April 26

Class Baskets Due this Friday. The Spring Fair class baskets are a fun way for classes to come together, whether you’re donating an item or helping to wrap.

Class basket donations are DUE this Friday, April 26th, giving us time to gather cash and make final purchases before all the baskets are wrapped for the Silent Auction!

Class basket themes can be found here.

If you have a silent auction donation to make on behalf of your business, please reply to this email. We’d love to market and showcase more Ridgeway businesses!

Pink Shirt Day Feb 27

Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, homes, and online. On February 27th, we encourage all students and staff to wear pink to raise awareness of these issues.

Over 75% of people say they’ve been bullied. Over 90% of bullying incidents have peer witnesses. But when those peers intervene, most incidents are over within 10 seconds. Bullying could be happening to someone you know and care about – join us in taking a stand against bullying, and letting your peers know that it is not okay. Show kindness, empathy, and compassion, and speak out!

Multicultural Fair a Success!

In the September PAC meeting, we ran a brainstorming session about what would add to the sense of community here at Ridgeway. Out of that came the idea for the Multicultural Fair. Last night, our school came together to share our diverse cultures, interact and engage. It was an amazing celebration of our families here at Ridgeway!

Next year, we’ll expand this amazing tradition to our gym. THANK you to all the families who put together the tables and amazing food for us to sample, to the families who baked for the cupcake walk & those who helped make our night a success!!

All About the Multicultural Fair

We’re celebrating our cultural diversity here at Ridgeway! Join your children to explore the cultural highlights of 18 countries from around the world.

  • Sample snacks from around the world
  • Explore facts, art, clothing, games & more from around 18 different regions of the world
  • Visit each country table to complete a ‘passport’. Completed passports will enter our draw for a $40 Indigo gift card
  • Visit the community tables from the Queen Mary Family Learning Program (QMFLP), the Settlement Workers in Schools and North Shore Neighbourhood House.

We encourage you to come to the event wearing something that represents your culture or its colours.

Thank you to the many families who have embraced the opportunity to be a part of this celebration! Many tables involve contributions from more than one family!
