Bikes for Tykes Drive Dec 6
Tuned & Donated
to a Child in North Vancouver this Christmas
Ridgeway Bikes for Tykes Drive
December 6th 8:15am to 9:00am
Every year, James Wilson and his team at Obsession Bikes receive 100s of donated, previously-loved kids bikes from North Shore families for the Bikes for Tykes Program. The bikes are tuned and made like new for a new child to ride them. Through the work of the Christmas Bureau, these bikes (along with a brand new helmet) are given to kids in our area in time for Christmas, with the majority of recipients being identified through Family Services of the North Shore.
This is a great opportunity for the Ridgeway community to get involved and support a fantastic local initiative. As James described to the entire school during the Bike to School Week assembly back in May, his belief is that every kid deserves to experience the joy and freedom that riding a bike can provide. Not to mention all the places a bike can take us as we grow and keep riding!
This coming Friday December 6th, 8:15 am – 9:00 am, please drop off a bike that your child/children have outgrown, knowing you are helping create an amazing Christmas for some less fortunate child in our neighbourhood. Not to mention, clearing room for the next bike in your home!
Plant Sale for Play at Ridgeway

I will personally be there from 1 to 3pm to talk with the community about our project. ❤️
DDA Clothing Drive May 2
Clean out the closets! The DDA Clothing Drive is coming up on Thursday, May 2. White DDA collection bags will come home soon, but if you have more than will fit in one bag, you can use any garbage bag or similar-sized bag.
Acceptable “soft” items include clothing, shoes, purses, accessories (hats, mittens, scarves), linens, bedding, towels, blankets, drapes, table linens, sewing material. Acceptable housewares (“hard” items) include sporting gear, toys, games, dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, glassware, vases, and small ornaments. Please note, DDA does not accept books, pillows, furniture, or any other large items. Please separate your “soft” and “hard” items into separate bags.
This clothing drive benefits the Developmental Disabilities Association. If we gather 150 full bags or more, we will receive $3 per bag. These proceeds will support this year’s Grade 7 graduation celebrations as well as their “legacy gift” of a new water-bottle filler, which has already been installed on the 3rd floor of the school!
Drop off your bags on Thursday May 2, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Ridgeway Ave between 8th and 9th Streets (near the tennis courts). Tell your friends and family – the more bags we receive, the more money we raise!
